Red Bull Global Rallycross makes its triumphant return to The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway this Friday, July 25 and Saturday, June 26, for the fifth event of the 2014 Red Bull GRC season. Using a popular, dirt-centric track layout that has proved to be a favorite of both drivers and fans, the event will mark the halfway point of the championship.
The Charlotte area is home to a significant amount of Red Bull Global Rallycross drivers, including Supercars points leader Nelson Piquet Jr., defending Charlotte race winner Scott Speed, Volkswagen Rallycross DC winner Patrik Sandell, and Steve Arpin, who currently ranks third in the Supercars championship. They’ll attempt to defend their home track against Tanner Foust, who won last week’s Volkswagen Rallycross NY, Ken Block, Bucky Lasek, returning star Brian Deegan, and many more of the world’s foremost rallycross competitors.
In GRC Lites, Mooresville, NC native Austin Cindric headlines the entry list, making his return to the series after a one-race absence. Olsbergs MSE teammates Mitchell DeJong and Kevin Eriksson continue their battle at the front of the pack, while Geoff Sykes looks to become the first two-time podium finisher at The Dirt Track after finishing second last year.
Red Bull Global Rallycross Charlotte will be broadcast on Saturday, July 26 at 2PM ET on your local NBC affiliate. Tickets are still available for purchase at or by calling 1-800-455-FANS. The race can be viewed live or on demand after broadcast on NBC Sports Live Extra, located at
