No technical issues and 7th place for Østberg

Mads Østberg and codriver Ola Fløene (Ford Fiesta WRC) finished Rally Poland in 7th place after the straight run through the finishing four special stages on Sunday. This is the first rally this year without any technical issues for the Norwegian privateer and furthermore the team has learned a lot during the event about set-up for fast gravel roads.

-That was actually the goal before this event, to finish without the technical problems that has hampered us earlier this year. The set-up wasn`t ideal when we started the rally, but we have worked through all three days and made it much better. This will give us a good base for the next rally in Finland, which is also on superfast gravel roads, Mads Østberg says.

The team`s analysis of the special stages in Poland has shown that Mads has been among the quickest on the wide and fastest parts of the stages.

-We have been struggling a bit more on the narrow and slippery stuff, but we have worked hard to get a good set-up for the really wide and fast parts. And of course Rally Finland is for most parts run on wider roads, so we can bring with us a good base for the set-up from Poland. It also gives us a positive feeling from a rally where I have struggled a bit before. It can only be better in Finland, Mads says.

Rally Finland is run from the 27th to the 30th of July, as usual based in the town of Jyväskylä, north of the capital Helsinki. The rally is the fastest of all the WRC events with plenty of jumps where the cars is really flying.
